Sarah Street |
Sarah followed her heart into the mountains of Clear Creek County after graduating from massage school in Fort Collins, CO in 2005. Her family owned a house on the creek in Georgetown. After settling into a thriving massage business, she realized that people wanted more yoga in this little mountain community so she studied at the ashram of Sri Swami Satchidananda in Virginia. She was also able to study western medicinal herbs to help guide people in finding effective herbal allies for health and healing.
After 10 years of helping people take good care of themselves, Sarah wanted to be able to help more people get the care they needed. At POCATech in Portland, OR, Sarah learned from some of the very best teachers and acupuncture practitioners in the world. The founders of Community Acupuncture in the U.S. She began offering acupuncture to her community both in her own office and at various locations around the county. How acupuncture heals the body is still not well understood. As one of her mentors and teachers, John Vella said, "We don't know how it works but we know how to make it work". After hundreds of treatments in clinic, Sarah believes it taps into our own bodies innate ability and desire to heal itself. Of all the modalities she uses, she believes this one is the most powerful. Then the global pandemic hit. She was forced to discontinue all services. Like many people, COVID presented a difficult challenge that lead to an amazing transition. After shutting down her clinic, Sarah and her husband decided to move to Buena Vista, CO to be closer to her family but also for a much needed change. Here she opened a community acupuncture clinic in April of 2021. In addition to serving Chaffee County with acupuncture and massage, Sarah and her husband started a small farm that is now home to a wide variety of animals and produces goat milk and cheese, fiber from sheep, llamas, and alpacas, eggs, and pasture raised pork. Between the clinic and the farm she stays busy but finds time to wander in the mountains that she loves. |
